Moving from GoDaddy.

We read your GoDaddy website, copy its words, photos and files, and rebuild it as a site you change by asking. Your domain can come too, and your GoDaddy site stays as it is until you approve the new one.

What comes across from GoDaddy.

We bring it over

  • A site made with GoDaddy’s website builder or with WordPress on GoDaddy hosting, read the same way: as the public pages a visitor sees
  • Every public page we can reach, with its words, headings, titles and page addresses, so links people already have keep working
  • Photos, documents, fonts and video, copied into your own storage so nothing depends on GoDaddy
  • Your blog, on its own page, with its posts yours to edit and add to
  • Pop-ups, as draft flyers in your pop-up editor, switched off until you choose

May need your help

  • Online store products we cannot fully see on your pages: a product export, which you import as a spreadsheet
  • Appointments: set up again with our bookings Beta, which take no payment yet
  • Subscriber lists and other private records: an export from your current provider
  • WordPress plugins, forms and other third-party tools: a decision to replace or reconnect them

Keep the look, or start fresh.

Keep the current look

Each page is rebuilt to look the way it does now, with its words, pictures and links.

A fresh design

Every page keeps its words, links, documents and pictures, in a new modern design that keeps your logo, name and colors.

Either way, the rebuild is tested on computers and phones and compared with your GoDaddy site, and you look over a private preview before anything goes live.

Your domain comes too, when you are ready.

  • We can do the domain steps for you. Connect with a GoDaddy personal access token, and we unlock the domain, get its transfer code, copy its records and switch its nameservers. Revoke the token afterwards.
  • Or do it yourself. Your account walks you through GoDaddy’s own screens, step by step: Domain Lock, the transfer code and the nameservers. Or keep the domain at GoDaddy and move it when it renews.
  • Your email keeps working. Before your domain switches, we copy its records, email first, and check the copy against what your domain answers today. If DNSSEC is on at GoDaddy, it has to be turned off first, and we tell you if it is.

Questions about leaving GoDaddy.

Is a GoDaddy token the same as my password?

No. A personal access token is a key you create in GoDaddy for this one job, and you can revoke it as soon as the move is done. It is typed into a secure box, never into the chat. You can also skip it and follow the steps yourself.

When should I cancel my GoDaddy plan?

Not until your new website is live on your domain, and not before your domain has moved or been connected. Your GoDaddy site stays up the whole time, so there is no gap.

What happens to my old site during the migration?

Nothing. Your current site stays exactly as it is, live and untouched, until you have looked over the new one and approved it. The rebuild happens alongside, never instead.

Can you move my email too?

Yes. Alongside the website we can move mailboxes from Google, Microsoft 365 or another IMAP provider, with their folders and message history, and host business email at your domain going forward. One move can bring several mailboxes across. Calendars and contacts are not copied. Business email is optional, at $5 a month and $1 for each extra mailbox.

Let’s move your site.

Moving your existing website is part of every plan, at $7 a month.
